Columbia pacific food bank is committed first and foremost to the health and safety of our community to our clients volunteers staff and the broader foodstream. The food bank is overseen by the columbia food bank board of directors and their appointed executive director and assistant executive director. The food bank is working with local partners on an ongoing basis to determine how it can continue distributing food as precautions against covid 19 cause closing in the community. In hagerstown youth ages 16 and older may volunteer in the warehouse.
The food bank cannot function without its volunteers. The food bank is deeply grateful to everyone who volunteers and we will take every precaution possible to protect your health. Our goal is to continue helping neighbors while ensuring the well being of our volunteers staff and those we serve. Our farm to food bank program does not have a minimum age to volunteer.
With clean hands open hearts and doors the columbia food bank will continue to operate normally as long as it is safe to do so for both our clients and volunteers. Volunteers must be 18 years old to help in the warehouse during the day on weekdays. Youth ages 14 and older may volunteer in our warehouse on saturdays and evenings. Volunteer opportunities are available at all harvest hope branches harvest hope utilizes nearly 11 000 volunteers a year in order to keep operations running at our facilities. In order to safeguard and promote the health of all involved we are asking that through march 31st for the following. You can keep the shelves stocked by assembling boxes of food for distribution. The columbia food bank is a 501 c 3 non profit corporation and survives totally on food and financial donations plus volunteers who are gracious enough to help our cause.
